Chamber Update: The last few months have been very busy yet exciting months.

In September we had two paintball outings and there was a good turnout for each. The kids who attended said they had fun and look forward to coming again next summer. At the end of September we opened our corn maze. It was opened from 6 – 10pm so people could come with flashlights and do a night walk.

We also started PTO on Tuesday mornings. This is our weekly in school bible study. We have been averaging about 10-13 kids a week and it is really nice to see kids come together, pray, and read God’s word.

In October we had our first event at the new youth center. It was an after game party. It started at 9pm and went until midnight. We have been busy getting the place all set up and ready for the past two months, so it was pretty exciting to see it being used. There were about 60 kids that came out. We had free pizza, pop, basketball, ping pong, and the band “Johnny K” played,

On Halloween night we are opening the youth center to any trick or treaters. There will be candy and videos playing and it will be a good time for people in the community to come and see the new building. Also they can check out some of the programs we are offering.

Support: With the addition of the youth center, we need $400.00 a month to pay for rent and utilities. Our salary support is still hovering around 66%. We do need additional funds for general expenses also. The past few months have been hard financially. We used some funds that we have saved to paint and update the youth center. Even more important is your prayers. Please continue to pray for us and that the Lord will be working in the lives of teens here in Deckerville. Prayer is powerful and will do more than any dollar amount!

Family News: Junior high football is officially over. I had a good time coaching and I got to know many kids. On October 18th I ran my 4th marathon. It was hard but I had a lot of fun doing it. The kids are doing well in school. Isaiah is starting Hockey in a few weeks and Adriana may do upwards cheerleading.
